Founded in 1980 by Lucio Gomiero, Vignalta is now one of the most interesting estates of the Euganean Hills (Colli Euganei). Since 1994 Vignalta has vinified the grapes grown in its own vineyards.in the modern cellar at Arqua` Petrarca .The cellar is completely carved into the rock, and is suggestive, but mostly functional for aging wine in oak barrels at constant temperature and humidity.
With grapes grown on about 50 hectares of vineyards, Vignalta produces 250,000 bottles annually. From the vineyard of Mount Gemola we produce our flagship wine (Merlot – Cabernet Franc) that has so far received great recognition.
Besides founder Lucio Gomiero, the current owners at Vignalta are the Salvagnin and Guzzo families, Padua farmers who for some years have been actively involved in the world of wine and in the very special production reality of the Euganean Hills.
Our main goal is to spread the culture of good wine and to convey the origin of our wines and importance of our territory. Our passion drives us.
Lucio says that the success of the Vignalta wines, are not only the result of dedication and expertise, but also of a particularly propitious natural environment. The Euganean Hills, with their volcanic soils, are particularly rich in minerals with a mild climate and good temperature allowing us to produce extraordinary grapes.
“We are sure of the quality of our wines”, adds Lucio, “but we do not ask for acts of faith, we invite you to taste them”.
